Will unlocked iPhone work with AT&T sim card from RAZR?

Right now I have the latest RAZR from AT&T with a voice plan, but no data.

I want an iPhone, but I can't afford to pay for the data.

If I buy an unlocked iPhone, or buy one and unlock it myself, can I just take the sim card out of my AT&T RAZR and put it in the iPhone and just make calls/get voicemail on it and just use the data apps when i have a WiFi signal?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks z3r01.

I just took the sim card out of my RAZR. It's a 3G card, says so right on it.

Does anyone have a more definite answer as to whether or not it will work in an unlocked 3G iPhone now that I know for sure it's 3G?

yes, It will work. But you shouldn't need to unlock it with an AT&T sim
