Angry Stuck on activation with no AT&T Sim

    Hi,

I hope someone can help me. It seems I did something quite stupid. I just got my iPhone from eBay. It's an American iPhone hence locked to AT&T. It was jailbroken and I used it a bit with the turbsim and it worked fine (I'm in Hong Kong).

Anyway, I decided to return it to factory settings so I can start clean and didn't realize this whole activation thing had to be done with an AT&T SIM card which I obviously don't have.

So I'm stuck on emergency call mode and can't do anything. Is there any way to activate the phone without an AT&T sim card?

    Please help!

    Thank you very much.

It doesn't need an AT&T SIM. Pwn it using the Activate feature and you'll be fine.

Thank you for the quick reply. I'm a newbie so please help me out - is there a thread that details how to do this? I've downloaded all the quickpwn software and the firmare but the only instructions I have are to do it through iTunes which is isn't an option since it won't let me do anything but "eject" my phone..

Open quickpwn, plug in your iphone... follow the on screen instructions by quickpwn, not iTunes.

I keep getting a "UNKNOWN ERROR" when I try to restore the iphone. What should I do?

Default Stuck on activation - iphone

I have two problems, first off itunes will not recognise or see my iphone.
i've done everything i can think of, restarted process, reinstalled itunes, did a system restore but to no avail. windows can see the iphone as a camera but that is as far as it gets.

second in trying to fix this problem i restored my iphone to its factory settings via itunes on another pc - now for the good part........... my iphone was purchased jaulbroken and activated which of course all dissapeared when i did the factory restore.

I have downloaded QuickPwn2.1.1 but it will not work as it cannot detect the iphone, when i use another PC it crashes the program.

now i'm stuck with a phone that can only make emergency calls and cannot be seen by my computer

(the iphone was origionall locked to att&t and purchased early last year may 2008

any help would be greatly appreciated
    Jerry

I downloaded firmware iPhone1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw and used quickpwn to restore but I received a message:"The IPSW file you selected( iphone1,2_2.1) does not match the firmware version of your device(iphone1,2_2.2).Please note that QuickPwn doesnot upgrade your firmware, it only jailbreak whatever firmware you currently have on your device." Does it means my iphone is ver 2.2? I couldn't check it because I don't have the original sim card with it, the phone stuck at emergency call screen, are there any way I can do, I can't use itune since I don't have the original sim card. Thanks
