Orange/unlocking

Im very new to iphones. I bought a 8gb iphone unlocked in Africa (Mali). New. It works with Orange here. I was having no problems then my dumbass upgraded to 2.1 firmware on itunes. I then jailbroke it via PWNAGE (sp) and then proceeded to try and get it working. It goes to the home screen etc....I have wifi...everything works minus the actual phone. It says no service even with my old ORANGE sim card in the phone. I know the SIM is good. I just had it in another phone plus it was in the IPHONE before. Anyhelp is GREATLY appreciated. I work in the U.S. EMBASSY over here and nobody seem to know how to work on these phones.

when using pwnage go into expert mode, then under the general heading uncheck the activate phone option, and continue from there pith the pwning process.

So go ahead and restore the phone and go through the entire process again?

thanks bro! So afterwards I should be able to restore etc. and after pwnage...just put in the sim card and good to go?

yup, just make sure you uncheck activate the phone

i dont see a expert option at all....it just goes right into the step by step process etc.

I have vista i might add (iphone 2g)

I jailbroke/unlocked it again. I still didnt see any expert option in PWNAGE? When I put the Orange SIM card I have a home screen etc. but it says "No Service"....HELP!..Thanks.

Pwnage is mac only, are you using winpwn? or quickpwn?

I'm not amazing at it either, try using winpwn, there should be a way to not activate the phone.
