I think I'm giving up...can anyone help
I tried to use pwnage to unlock my phone. It never asked for bootloaders, but everything else happened. I tried several times and ended up with a locked restored iphone, which is now upgraded to FW 2.1.I even tried quickpwn for mac which said didnt recognize (or something) the FW. What I need is this, if ANYONE can help...
I am looking for the SIMPLEST way to unlock my 8gb original iphone, FW 2.1 upgraded by itunes 8, with my mac OS 10.4.11 to use with a tmobile sim card. I'd hate to think its basically just going to be an ipod. I really appreciate any help you can give with this. Thanks! Also, do I need to do all this with the tmobile sim in it?Last edited by barbara1020; 09-27-2008 at 02:30 PM.

give up n sell it to me

seriously, dont give up that easily. if u are, you dont want an iphone. trust me.
you need to do more research, pwnage tool doesn't even unlock your phone, it activates/jailbreaks it. then when it opens up, it runs a program called bootneuter to unlock it(on the iphone directly)
SO. either find a custom firmware that activates/jailbreaks/unlocks and restore to that, or use quickpwn with ur tmobile sim card IN, do not select to activate/unlock just jailbreak and activate using itunes ( so the mods on here say) then when u turn it on, it should be at the home screen, connect to wifi, run cydia, download bootneuter, and unlock it1.1.1>1.1.2>1.1.4>2.0>2.1>2.2>3.1>3.1.2 blackra1n'd
waitin on my white iphone 4

Thanks for replying. So for a moment forgive my ignorance
. When I put my tmobile sim card in I will have the itunes logo with usb cord, attach to mac and then run quickpwn for mac? and then, I'm assuming, just follow instructions in quickpawn.

try this thread. Download one of the 2.1 custon firmwares and use it. I've unlocked three 1st gen 8gb iphones for friends using this thread.
