Hello.. I have a 8gb iphone unlocked and jailbroken back from January. Running on Tmobile.

It is 1.1.4 currrently and I used ziphone(forgot which version).

I know that apple recently released upgrade or firmware or something for the iphone. So if i do "check for update" in itunes will it upgrade my phone and everything will be fine?? or will I loss my apps and mess up(break) my phone since its unlocked?

Im kinda a newbie if you cant tell! Please and thanks!

yes if you update your phone it'll wipe all your old stuff off of it (app's) and it'll also relock yor phone.. that version of itunes are you running?? i suggest to use winpwn 2.5 it has the option to unlock your phone

I just did the newest software update today on my macbook so im running the newest version of Itunes i would guess.

so just go to winpwn2.5 on the web and download it? then i can get the update no probs?

If you update to f/w 2.1....WinPwn 2.5 will not work with f/w 2.1.

You will need QuickPwn to JB & unlock your 1st Gen iPhone.

but its already jailbroken and unlocked. so just to clarify.... quickpwn is just like ziphone a method of unlocking it? so will i keep all my apps, contacts ect....???? i just want to upgrade my firmware to the new stuff maybe to get better performance from the iphone. thanks

Once you upgrade to the new f/w, you will lose all your apps & it want be JB or unlocked.
QuickPwn will JB & Unlock it again for you with the new f/w 2.1
