Why cant someone that works at the store pirate the software that unlocks the phone? You think that it would be so doable...

Or there should be a company or someone you could ship your iPhone to, that would take it to a store that unlocks and do it for you... that would be a really lucrative business

Of all the things that are leaked every day, movies, music, software, you would think that out of all the stores in all the counties that have the ability to unlock the iPhone, one of them would have pirated the software... hmm

R u sure they didn't just take your iphone into the back real quick to hardwire an xsim adaptor inside your phone? lol... i've heard of this happening... but hey at least it seems to be working for you in any case...

I took my 2g to mexico and i asked if they can unlock it and they charged 75 dollars to unlock it and it would take 2 days that was to much for me, when i could do it at home for free.

Im wondering if any iPhone can be unlocked via the store(in participating countries), or if the iPhones sold in those countries have different hardware made to accept a unlock code of some sort.

?? @ MPS3: What happens if you want to restore your iPhone.. will that wipe out your unlock or is the unlock permanent? Thanks for sharing

I bet it's Dev team's unlock. They do work with many russian hackers. I guess they testing it in Moscow as we speak. Darn it.. and I just bought universal-sim adapter last night

Let's hope the software unlock will be here soon!

I just checked out some russian forums, and some guys from Kazakhstan got software unlock as well.

cant certain providers sell unlocked iPhones in select countries such as italy? I guess Im misunderstanding what this thread is about. So your saying that this was not a authorized iPhone provider that did the unlock for you? This was 3rd party software?? Oh, this thread is so much more interesting now

I went to telcel in mexico and they wanted me to wait 2 weeks. Then I went to another place specialised for unlocking phones (But didnt sell them) and they wanted me to wait 2 days.
