what´s the deal with this "easy iphone unlocking" ads that are all over the site..
I contacted the guy and he´s croatian, russian or something...
he says that it works (obviously) otherwise he gives refund.

i came home, i saw, and it conquered!!!
good stuff MPS3! now....im wondering again was it a special .ipsw ? activation done by itunes...what? cuz if its an activation by itunes, cant we just download there version of itunes? or even just something? trick itunes into activating it?
cuz im in NY and i have the 3G under att prepaid, but i kinda like tmobile prepaid plans better, (although i know the 3G dont work)

Contacted the easy iphone unlock company in the banner up top, that claims to be able to even unlock the 3G and this i what they said..

Yeah true...I guess that if I was able to get a Fido iPhone for a decent price from lets say kijiji or craiglist, I can unlock it and use it on either carrier. I know for a Rogers phone its doesn't matter

What has me confused is why do they say they can only do up to firmware 2.0.2? Don't they know pwnage also jailbreaks 2.1?? for a company trying to rip people off, the least they can do is stay current on the apps and cracks. LOL

You said you did a full restore and it's still unlocked,it doesn't sound right to me because if they unlock with software then when you restore it will be locked it back. either you have a legally unlocked iphone or they open your iphone and modified the hardware inside.

Not true. When you are running a restore you are only affecting the application layer of the phone. It's highly doubtful the application layer would be where the carrier lock functionality would reside.

With Rogers at the moment on a corporate plan... What I meant to say once there is an unlock readily available, I can choose from a Rogers or Fido 3G iPhones.
As far as I know I can use Roger phones on Fido but can not use Fido on Rogers.
Though my brother switched over to Fido w/o any penalty fees...hmmm
