Firmware 2.1 questions need all the help I can get.

Alright so i want to update my iPhone 2g to 2.1 but i have 1.1.4 which i have already unlocked, jailbroke, and activated with iLiberty. So first off when i upgrade do i just do a straight upgrade or put into dfu? And second will my iPhone still be unlocked and activated since the baseband has not been upgrade? I know i will have to jailbreak with QuickPwn 2.1. Thanks

And how did it work? So if use winpwn for it i can just do it over 1.1.4 and it will stay unlocked jailbroke and activated? Hows 2.1 also is it worth upgrading?
