used ziphone and it didn't unlock or install apps...

I'm pretty new to the iphone. I got the phone from a friend and his wife was using at&t. I have t-mobile. i think his wife was running 1.3 but i'm not sure. so i downloaded ziphone gui 3.0 and after restoring the phone i clicked on the "do it all" but after it went through the process when it was all said and done there was no installer icon but the Zibri's blog icon was there. i put the t-mobile sim in and there was no signal or carrier name at the top. if someone could help that would be awesome. sorry if i did thisthread thing wrong....i've never been in a "forums" before. thanks alot
