I haven't been on here in a while so please excuse me while I catch up. I have a question or 2 with regards to iPhone firmware 2.0.2. I have an AT&T 1st Gen iPhone which I am trying to unlock to use my alternative sim card in. I downloaded PwnageTool 2.0 and managed to install 'Cydia' on the iPhone using the .ispw file it made for me. However, the screen is activated when I have an AT&T sim card in it...but, when I remove it to put my other card in I get the prompt to connect to itunes for activation. I was wondering that when I have Cydia on there is that it unlocked? Or, do I have to do something else?
I have been looking on MMI for instruction on unlocking 2.0.2 but can't seem to find it. I'm doing this for my buddy from SC and want to mail it back to him unlocked...but don't want to mail it if it ain't. I'd be grateful of any help. Thanks in advance..
can you get on a PC somehow? just to create the custom fw using WinPwn 2.5 version. Once done...just save that on a flashdrive and restore it on your Mac. WinPwn 2.5 works really well...I am too on a MAC, but had to use WinPwn 2.5 on a PC to create the firmware.
I it's got Cydia installed on it then it's jailbroken already right? You probably just didn't select the right options in PwnageTool to have it also unlock the phone. I think you should be able to use Cydia to download and install BootNeuter... once you have that installed you can run it to unlock the phone. Someone correct me here if I'm wrong.
Thanks for the replies guys. I used Pwnage when I did whatever I did to it in order to get Cydia on there so I presume it's done. I remember having to download boot loader 39..(think thats what it was) so wondered if it was already on there too. I'll have to get in a Wi-Fi zone to have a go with it as I'm in a hotel in Orlando right now and it doesn't have strong enough wireless for the phone. Thanks again for your replies...
