I unlocked my 3G with a sim adapter (purchased on ebay) the adapter worked fine until the phone lost signal. The problem I had was that I could not remove the sim&Adapter they got stuck inside the phone. Eventually I got it out with the help of a paperclip. The problem I have now is that the phone will not recognize any sim card installed Even At&t....I googled the problem and seems I am not the only one with the issue...Anyone here have any first hand experience with this?

Yes, I had this problem with Rebel Sim.

Enable your Airplane mode, disable 3G and data roaming. Turn iPhone off.

Take the "regular Sim" out and put it in another (non-iPhone) phone and make a call. Then put it back in your iPhone with your sim adapter

Start up the iPhone - go to Settings and disable Airplane mode - it will search and find the provider.
