Default stuck in "recovery mode" (upgrading from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2)
I have a 1.1.1 iPhone, jailbraked and unlocked. I started following the instructions to update to 1.1.2 found here

    http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Get...OS_X_current_3

Everything seemed to work fine, but now I can't get the iPhone to do anything. When I turn it on, there is a picture of a cable pointing to the iTunes icon. When I open iTunes (7.6 OS X) a window opens with an "OK" button and the following message

"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes"

I don't want to restore it because it will also upgrade to the latest version of the software.

    What can I do?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Use iBrickr to kick it out of recovery mode.

Thanks for the help. I am on a Mac so iBrickr won't run. But I did find that iNdependece.app will kick me out of recovery mode.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy
