2 questions if i may!

Hi there...
New here so please be gentle lol.
If this is in the wron place or has been answered before please let me know or point me in the right direction.
I wonder if anyone can help or give advice?

I have 2 iphones here which i want to unlock to use with UK sim cards,
I have jailbroken both of them in order to use x-sims on them but neither work with these?
Is it a problem with the x-sims or what i did on iphones??

1rst iphone is a older one (37) on the box guy had upgraded to 1.1.3 so i downgraded to 1.1.1 then jailbroke, then upgraded to 1.1.2 then jailbroke again everythin works but when i try to use the x-sim still reads insert activated sim card etc :S ???

2nd iphone was a 1.1.2 otb (45) on the box also upgraded to 1.1.3 by guy.
so i did same as first one, downgraded, jailbroke, upgraded, jailbroke.
as with first one all features work ok apart from when try to use x-sim still says must be activated.

Does upgrading the iphone to 1.1.3 stop allowing turbosims/xsims etc to work or something or have i not done something right??
