1.1.2 OTB Software Unlock Status Please
I am so bored of waiting to use my iphone as a phone! Where can I check on the developments of the 1.1.2 OTB Software unlock, and is there anybody actually even working on it?
update us guys! All people seem to talk about now is 1.1.3 which i dont even have a chance in hell getting, or there would be no point - has 1.1.2 just been dumped....feels like it.

Update:
As of January 16, 2008 it is NOT YET POSSIBLE to unlock Out-of-box 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 iPhones from USA or Europe yet.
Apple released firmware 1.1.3 on January 15 and the dev team is working on it right now. Good news: 1.1.3 brings a baseband update, that will once again allow us access to the baseband's memory (this means that there will be a software unlock).
Please don't bother everyone by asking about this in the forums. As soon there are any news, we will let you know.
Point Blank were all still pretty much patiently waiting i had to get another cell in the meantime just so i could use my sim card *Sigh* U know somewhere locked up in a safe apple has that one piece of software that could unlock everybodys phone, just waiting on somebody to find the key

a coworker is from china and just went back yesterday with 2 iphones for friends. I offered to set everything up before they left, but they told me they have someone over there that can unlock them and everything.
Being skeptical (since no one here has heard about this) I told them to find out as much as possible when they do it.
ie, is it a hardware unlock, a reflashing of the baseband or simply we will unlock if you have baseband 3.9 or lower.
It will be about a week or two before I find anything out, but I will let everyone here know the status (which I am already betting is either fake or a hardware solution of some type.

yeah a lot of people claim to be able to do stuff, and then just churnout the same old rubbish.
Chances are, if you were speaking to people who didnt have much knowledge of the iphone they would claim to be able to do it just cos sum1 told them they can do _something_!

Im pretty sure if there was a software solution, then hardcore boards like this one and hackintosh would be all over it.
I hear so much about the iphone. I hear people who dont own them tell me that "Oh, Im just waiting until the next version comes out because the first one always is buggy" I have a guy who told me that "Oh, I can get them for $150, and when I told him I would buy 3 right now, go get them, I havent seen him since.
Ive also heard about people saying how the can unlock and jailbreak a phone in 10 minutes. Dont believe anything until you see it

Yes I tried in order to know what is announcing this guy:
He asks you for 53 USD ($50 for the software plus $3 for "shipping")
After you paid via PayPal you receive a message from him asking for IMEI & Serial number of your iPhone.
One day later he sends you a message with a PDF document explaining how to unlock an iPhone by using a Turbosim.
That's all...
A real fraud.

@renegadeandy
You're right man, everybody doesn't say anything about 1.1.2....
it all 1.1.3 now.....the only option we have right now is hardware unlock
or turbosim...I've been waiting for a while for software unlock
and gave up....bought a ****sim for 20 bucks...

Really not
"Expertdecisions" is the name of the company I'm working.
I tried that by risking 53 bucks just to know what was going behind that URL and to prevent some friends & family members to be victims of a possible fraud. So I lost 53 USD but my friends & family are safe.

ahh the good samaritan!!
Good man.
Hmm, really didnt want to have to go for a hardware unlock.
Can you use your old cut up sim in any fone still? or does it not work?
