AT&T sim + Iphone + Jailbreak help

I have a jailbroken Iphone up to 1.1.3 It was OTB 1.1.2 I purchased this phone off of the internet and it was used for phone service before. But I want to put my att sim card in it and just use it as a phone. I have a plan already and am happy with it. But when I put my att card in, it doesnt get any service. I really want to use the iphone with my sim? Is this possible?

To the best of my knowledge only specific AT&T SIMS work with the iPhone. It has to be an iPhone SIM. I could be wrong, but I think it's related to the two year contract thing - they don't want you using an AT&T SIM that only has 2 months left.

Correct, the IPhone only works with IPhone specific SIM cards. You can not simply insert your AT&T sim and get it to work unless the phone is unlocked
