unlocked, now i need plan!

hey, i just made the jump from ipods to iphones, i jaibreoke it with winpwn, and now i want to get a plan on it. so i go to rogers in my area, i ask them to put a plan on a sim card i have and they ask me for my phone! i din't want to give it to them so i said i didn't have it. apperantly i need to either present them with previous unlocking information (wich i don't have, i think) or hand them over the ipooon. what should i do to get a plan? thanks alot for your time.
