Will there ever be an iPhone 3G Software Unlock?
Hello, I have a new iPhone 3g sitting on my desk here and before i activate it with my carrier, i am looking for some opinions from knowledgable people since i am new to the iphone world.
In september I am moving to europe for school and I am wondering if there will be a software unlock by that time or any time in the near future, so I can use the phone there. If it is looking unlikely, I will return it and get my money back since it's not worth it to pay that much for just one month.
Thank You for your help.

No one is working on a timeline here, so whose to say.
Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.

Buy an Unlocked one from Europe. A couple of countries sell them unlocked. But as Eurisko states, who's to say when unlocking software comes out.
Or check for a SIM unlock (though I don't like this method).
Those are your options!My Mac: iMac 21.6" 2.5GHz Quad-Core i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB, AMD 512MB Video (10.6.6)
iOS Devices: iPhone 4 32GB (4.3.2 JB) | iPad 2 16GB (4.3.2) | Apple TV 2G (4.3 JB)
