As we've found out on their website and support forum Universal-SIM has finally got one complete working solution.
I don't think they lied as their product is more than 6 months on the market.

Other products like YESSIM, Rebel SIM nobody knew their names 1 and a half months ago.

    Here are the links:

I found this earlier today and it looks pretty legit: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUWtQHykeTI]YouTube - iPhone 3G & 2G 2.01 Worldwide Unlock in 3 Minutes or less![/ame]. According to the video, they're able to use their unlocked iPhone 3g with the new 2.0.1 firmware.

I just placed an order @ iPhone 3G Unlocking SIM - MoogleX, and should be getting it in a few days. Will get back to you guys after I've tested it out. ::keeping fingers crossed::

you guys! these people are offering the same sim with the "same" firmware on them. They all work the same way, they just have different settings and looks, that's why some of them work with different carrier and some don't.

If the universal-sim company is being truthful about what they are telling then they wrote their own firmware from raw.

Hi, I'm here to update on the i-smart, that little **** almost messes up my phone. YESSIM and TURBOSIM come with a sticker that will make your sim thinner, with i-smart you have to put tape or else the sim is going to fall inside the iphone and it will be worse. I had to use a special tool to get the tray out. Fortunately the surgery was successful. It does work on tmobile usa but still NO EDGE. Its not worth it. Dont buy it. I only paid 16 dollar and no shipping so its good. DONT BUY IT.

Well the rebel sim is a complete and utter piece of crap, Avoid at all costs, Luckily mine never got stuck but i heard from people who's did. I also tried three sims, Orange, Vodaphone and Virgin every one failed and got no signal. So everyone keep away from it also their online help staff are very arrogant to. Luckily i am able to get a refund on this crap

Dont we have to Pwn or Jailbreak the iPhone 3G before using an Unlock Sim?

For those of you that didnt jailbreak the iPhone 3G before using the unlock sim, could you please try to jailbreak your iPhone 3G first by custom firmware using Pwnage or WinPwn, and please report back Thanks!

Im looking for a sim adapter myself too.. Just got an iPhone 3G..

For yessim you do not need to jailbreak. just activate it. the easiest way to activate an iphone 3g is to borrow a sim from the carrier that the iphone 3g is meant for.

Steer clear of i-smartphone from Hong Kong (Deal Extreme stock it). I love Deal Extreme, but the card stopped working after a day and when it was it didn't accept incoming calls and no internet either. Basically useless. Bladox Turbosim is not officially supported and the firmware is buggy. X-Sim doesn't work at all and neither do old gen iphone sim hacks. The only thing that worked (and has been working for a week) is the Universal Sim. But make sure you buy a programmer to update it. It just future proofs it. After a month of my iPhone gathering dust, I can finally lay my n95 to bed and use a much sexier phone!
