yes they needed the secpak,but why then the hardware unlock?
if they got the secpak couldnt they have unlocked the old way with the new secpak or did they only get the secpak after hardware unlocking?

What exactly is the hardware unlock as from what I am readying you simply downgrading the bootloader to 3.9. Has anyone tried this and does it actually work?

well it is the downgrading and everything else, but in order to be able to do it you actually need to open the phone and do some stuff which is pretty risky to do so. If you havent done things like that before on other devices, you can easily brick your phone. So if you doubt that you can do it on your own i would say better wait a bit more for the soft unlock.

My opinion. It's up to you what you want to do with your phone

Is there somewhere available a full hardware unlock? And can I download bootloader 3.9 from somewhere?

Anyone has any estimation for how long it will take to dev team to find the software unlock (is it the same as a new anySim application) or how long did it take last time??

This is superb news, really brilliant.

So, shall I risk my soldering capabilities or,,,, wait for the software unlock.

My exams end on Monday, so i will wait till atleast then and make a decision.
If people are finding it pretty easy to do hardware and the software is still a while of, I will turn my OTB overpowered IPod into an IPhone!

Yes, we know, but it;s still valid news. Also good because we now know that a soft unlock will be coming very soon (I would guess within a week)

There has to be a hardware unlock just befre a software unlock is created because the software unlock is more complex than the hardware unlock, by tryng to emulate what it does simply using softwafre is quite dam nails!
