Help. Upgraded To 1.1.2, Unlocked It, And Now The Phone And Sms Dont Work?

the iphone was given to me as a gift and i wasnt aware of the upgrade clause so i upgraded. anyway, i unlocked iy but now my phone and sms buttons dont function. for me now its almost like a glorified ipod. i just wanna smash it! plsss help

Are you on AT&T? What is the bootloader? What was the original version of the phone? Do you have anysim installed?

What country are you in? If the country you are trying to use the phone in is not the country where you bought the phone from the phone and sms apps dont seem to work. Download a program called iWorld from the installer - choose your country from the list and that should sort things.
