good post! was just wondering what updating would mean to us who just bypassed activation not unlocking, by changing the lockdown file? Do we just need to wait for a jailbreak on it, beacuse I assume if i update it will be back on the please activate iphone screen?

OK, I've read all the threads on hackint0sh and here that might have info. I have a Sept. iPhone on 1.1.2 with an AnySim unlock, and have unlocked two friends' 1.1.2 OOB with TurboSims. 1.1.3 locks a TurboSim phone (see hackint0sh) and of course it would lock or brick my AnySim phone. So we avoid 1.1.3 for now.

What I want to find out: is it ok to update iTunes to 7.6? Probably so, but I'd like confirmation before doing it.

(I'd ask on hackint0sh too but despite weeks of trying and numerous emails, I can't get the registration-activation email or any response from anybody about it. Is there some secret to joining that I don't know?)

I'm pretty sure if you wanna unlock 1.1.2 you must stay on 1.1.2.

I updated my iTunes to 7.6 and then performed a sync of my music, contacts and photos on my Jailbroken, Activated 30 weeks 1.1.2 Iphone.

So the answer to you is, no worries about updating itunes to 7.6.

heres a question i upgraded to the new 1.1.3 nd everything is great but my rintones that i have put on there wont play (used iphone ringtone maker) but are still in the library... and one know whats up????

I was that guy.. it was me... the over anxious modder who had an UNLOCKED 1.1.2 and decided not to heed the warnings and updated to 1.1.3..

Ive got the infamous 'Activate in Itunes' Screen .. Should i dispel any hopes of this iphone ever working again.. What can i do??
