Do I Need a Mac?

Hi guys, I would like to check if I need a mac computer to downgrade the firmware of my iphone. I found this at: http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Get...g_OS_X_current

Step 1. Downgrade to 1.1.1.

Connect the iPhone to your Mac.

If you have added info to the iPhone already (contacts, music, calendars, etc), you should sync now in iTunes to save your personal info. Make sure to import any photos you have taken as well in iPhoto, as this process will delete all your personal info from the iPhone. Assuming you sync now, you should be able to get your info back on the iPhone. Note: any SMS and voicemail will most likely be deleted.

With iTunes open and the iPhone connected, hold down the Sleep and Home buttons on the iPhone for roughly 15-20 seconds, until it displays a picture of the iTunes icon and a cable plugging into it. iTunes will now detect the iPhone in recovery mode and display the following message:

yo can restore it in windows...
but saving things....not all of them

Contacts: var,root,Library,AdressBook (Save both files)
Mail: var,root,Library,Mail (Save everything in there)
Calendar, i Think you can backup in outlook
Camera Roll Photos: private/var/root/Media/DCIM/100APPLE
Photos: private/var/root/Media/Photos (everything in there)

And Music and Videos....I guess you already have a backup in your PC....so this can help to make a backup in windows....just SSH it or with iBrickr
