unlocking help

so im going to purchase a 1.1.3 iPhone and want to unlock it. I have been reading how to do it and it seems simple enough, but can someone clarify the different versions of bootloader and which one I need to unlock it. Also am I able to skip the update of 1.1.4 and go straight to 2.0 once the unlocking method has been shown?
