Your new phone would have been 1.1.2. So you need to downgrade to 1.1.1, run oktoprep, upgrade to 1.1.2 again and run the 1.1.2 jailbreak.

Turbosim? No. Just follow the guides posted.
The reason your phone doesn't work is cos you're on 1.1.1, you need to get back up to 1.1.2, cos the baseband of 1.1.2(the bit which controls phone/sms etc) and the firmware(basically the GUI and OS) are not compatible.
When you downgrade to 1.1.1, the baseband stays at the 1.1.2 version - 04.02.13G, so they will not work togetherTo live, you have to lie

Well, you can't unlock them to carriers other than o2, so it's unlocked from the o2 iphone contract, but not o2 all together. It's complicated!
Glad you got it up and running! To live, you have to lie
