Right iv just activated it and its all working apart from the phone bit.... im using a O2 payg sim in the phone so id have thought i wouldnt need to unlock it, anyways all im getting is no service in the signal bars, so i tried to use the anysim app but when it fiinishs it says anysim could not unlock my iphone then quits, what have i done wrong.

Your new phone would have been 1.1.2. So you need to downgrade to 1.1.1, run oktoprep, upgrade to 1.1.2 again and run the 1.1.2 jailbreak.

I don't think EDGE works on o2 PAYG, but theres is a proxy hack floating around

Turbosim? No. Just follow the guides posted.

The reason your phone doesn't work is cos you're on 1.1.1, you need to get back up to 1.1.2, cos the baseband of 1.1.2(the bit which controls phone/sms etc) and the firmware(basically the GUI and OS) are not compatible.

When you downgrade to 1.1.1, the baseband stays at the 1.1.2 version - 04.02.13G, so they will not work together

see thats the stuff that confused me because its a 1.1.2 as you say and everyone says you cant unlock 1.1.2 phones, oh my head hurts just trying to think about it lol. anyways just updating too 1.1.2 again so fingures crossed.

Oh man i could kiss you, thanks so so much its all working perfect.

Well, you can't unlock them to carriers other than o2, so it's unlocked from the o2 iphone contract, but not o2 all together. It's complicated!

Glad you got it up and running!
