Hi, im loooking to get my iphone probably tomorrow, and then use this method to activate and jailbreak so that i can use the ipod features,

just wondering, is there any apps like that, after the jailbreak and upgrading is done, that will not work or brick my phone?

You should do a search on this site before you install any 3rd party apps to see if there are any issues. Nothing springs to mind right now that has had any big issues, but it's always good to research an app before you install it. Almost every app that is released has a thread about the app and any issues that users have had with it.
