I am planning on purchasing a few iphones for my friends in Germany and was wndering if they can use the Iphone with german phone service providers such as T-Mobile, e-plus, fonic?

ehm I have a friend who has two and sells them unlocked, just wondered if they can be used in Germany.

Nope, unlocked iphones can't be used in Germany or Peru. Everywhere else they work fine

YES, as long as an iphone is unlocked, that means you can insert any sim card from anywhere in the world. If you're American you are probably not used with the GSM, since it only went to the States a few years ago, so let's give him break, "redcard"
