please please help jailbreak an OTB 1.1.2 week 47

a friend got a new AT&T phone from the local store last night. he knew i had "hacked"/ jailbroke my phone and asked me to come over and set his up. after doing some research on the new bootloader we found this website:

it seems to a very good site and we followed each step with success......until you get to where it says:
"Phone will return to activation screen, but don't panic, just wait. iPhone should automaticly restart after almost a minute. When the phone starts again, it should no longer say Slide to emergency, but rather Slide to Unlock. This means it was successfull!"

the phone would never restart. even though i changed the Auto Lock to never, the screen would go black and would do nothing more and we'd still have the Slide to Emergency. we did the whole process several times and got the same result each time. Help! please!

I am assuming your fw now is 1.1.1 since its otb 1.1.2. If not, you need to downgrade it to 1.1.1 then use ibricker to boot the phone when you get the 1015 error. You will now have the activate screen. after you set up wifi, just keep trying to install appsnap from jailbreakme.com. one of those attempt will be succesfull instead of getting the slide to emergency you now have the slide to unlock. Install bsd subsystem in installer then oktoprep. Back to iTunes and click UPDATE. After the successful update, let iTunes see your iPhone then close it and run jailbreak.jar check ssh on pop up. Wait till its done and will tell you to reboot your iPhone when it finished. And your iPhone will reboot itself and you will get the slide to unlock screen

sounds like maybe we didn't have run appsnap enough times for it to work. dunno, i guess we'll try it again.
also, if you downgrade FW to 1.1.1 the phone won't have signal because the baseband wasn't changed...right? so you can't stop there and use 1.1.1, you have to OkToPrep and update to 1.1.2 before the phone will work......right?

nevermind......got it jailbroken.
