Hi,

Since the new iPhone 3G is coming out, my grandfather might send me his old iPhone, now, I really want 2.0 on there, but I am willing to wait until there is a way to false activate it or however you call it. Does anyone know if that will still be the same, or if I would have to wait for someone to crack it again?

EDIT: I just got an idea, if the phone was already activated using the hack on 1.1.4, when you upgrade, wouldn't it stay activated? Since all its doing is changing firmware, not re-activating the phone.

Your going to have to wait. When you restore the phone iTunes automatically looks up your phone past info and reactivates it. This is why people with t-mobile sim cards have to wait to upgrade when a new firmware comes out.
