question about unlocking

Is there a way to find out what program was used to unlock an iphone. I had my iphone unlocked while i was in florida and i can't remember what shop did it. My phone is bugging out, the lower strip on the touch screen isnt working and i need to take it back to the apple store.

I thought about doing that, But i heard that might mess a program up. Is that true or just a rumor

You would need to clarify. Doing a restore will wipe out ALL programs on the iPhone and bring it to a factory locked state. Then you would use a program like ZiPhone or a PWN tool to unlock it.

Some of the older programs and even older versions of the same programs that are still alive and kicking had some major issues so just restoring and starting from scratch may not be a bad idea.

Why? I mean, yes, you can downgrade to 1.1.1 but all development efforts for new software are being directed to 1.1.4 or the new 2.0 due out soon. Do a search for baseband downgrade.

You should be able to restore any firmware version and get the activation screen to come up, you don't have to restore to 1.1.1. It seems like you have three different threads asking the same question in different ways. Do a restore to 1.1.4, go through the activation, then use ZiPhone to jailbreak but not unlock the iPhone.
