i am locked with my phone and i dont have att or t-mobile sim. what should i do to unlock and how to go about it.

you are in the wrong forum group.
Questions for unlocking should be put in the 'unlocking' forum.
However, you should not need to ask this question - at the top left of every page there is a green button that says GUIDES. It should be up to date now - take a look there for guides on how to get your phone working. IF you have problems while following the guides, THEN post our question/problem on the forum and someone will help you out.

Jailbreaking is not unlocking. Jailbreaking is a method of making your iPhone's filesystem Read/Write instead of just Read-Only. Unlocking allows your phone to be used with any carrier. If you need to unlock do as Annaj suggests.
