activate, unlock THEN upgrade? I would really appreciate it if anybody could tell me whether there is a way to do this RIGHT or a way to DEFINITELY NOT do. Bought this phone from Apple and have never used it yet. I really want to get this running on my T-mobile account/sim. Thanks in advance for any help.

depends what firmware you want to use. what ever you decide to use, try www.hacktheiphone.com there are guides for all firmware's how unlock and so forth if you need any more help send me a ptivate message.
