Exclamation 1.1.2, 4.6 bootloader unlocked with TurboSim
Is this true ? Iphone on 1.1.2 OTB with 4.6 bootloader UNLOCKED??????????????

    """"""""""""

    hey guys

web-translations suck so I took a tutorial from a german site in which is described how to get a 1.1.2 OTB fully funtional with a TurboSIM - and translated it.

could plz anyone tell if this ok or if there has to be changed anything.

i did NOT test this myself, as I am still waiting for phone and turbosim, but maybe someone already did this procedure or similar to this and could tell if this is all right

    thanks

    here we are:

HOW TO JAILBREAK/ACTIVATE A 1.1.2 OTB (Bootloader 4.6) and USE IT WITH TURBOSIM

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    STEP 1 - DOWNGRADE YOUR 1.1.2 OTB to 1.1.1

    1. download 1.1.1 firmware here:

    http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....a_Restore.ipsw

    2. start iPhone in recovery mode: press both, sleep and home button for 10 seconds, as soon as the display turns black, release the sleep button but still hold the home button for another 10 seconds

    3. connect the iPhone to your Mac and start iTunes 7.5; iTunes will report that it found an iPhone in recovery mode; press the restore button WHILE holding the ALT-key; in the upcoming filechooser just choose the 1.1.1-firmware-file (iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw) you just downloaded; iTunes will now downgrade the iPhone to 1.1.1 (which may take a while) and then report the errorcode 1015, which is not important and can be dismissed.

    4. shut down iTunes

    STEP 1 - DONE!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 2 - JAILBREAK and ACTIVATION

    1. download iNdependence (V1.3Beta for iTunes 7.5) here:

    http://independence.googlecode.com/f...v1.3_beta2.dmg

    2. mount the image and copy iNdependence.app and iNdependence MobDev Tool.app to your desktop

    3. download and unpack MobileDevice_7_4_2_framework here:

    http://**********.com/files/68410680...ework.zip.html

    4. start the iNdependence MobDev Tool.app and choose the MobileDevice_7_4_2_framework; the app will move the framework to where it belongs

    5. start iNdependence and just wait until the iPhone will start normally (iNdependence will help with bringing the iPhone out of the recovery mode)

    6. just do as shown in this YouTube-video:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvaZCBN5ub8"]YouTube - How to AppSnapp Installer.[/ame]

STEP 2 - DONE! Your iPhone is now jailbroken and activated; all functions except making/receiving calls and sending/receiving SMS should be working.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 3 - PREPARING and INSTALLING THE TURBOSIM

    1. on your iPhone, go to Settings -> General -> Auto Lock -> Never

    2. connect your iPhone to your WLAN (keep in mind or write down the IP your iPhone will have in your WLAN)

    3. on your iPhone, start the Installer and install the following: BSD Subsystem / CommunitySources / openSSH / OctoPrep

    4. download and unpack these files:

    http://**********.com/files/71974453..._rev2.zip.html
    http://**********.com/files/71977708...abled.zip.html

    5. download and open Cyberduck (if you donīt have it already) here:

    http://tc.versiontracker.com/product...1.dmgCyberduck

    6. with Cyberduck connect to your iPhone; Protocol: SFTP / Server: your iPhonesī IP (see above) / Username: root / Password: alpine

    7. use Cyberduck to copy the file "applesaft.trb" (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /private/var/root

    8. use Cyberduck to copy all OTHER files (except "applesaft.trb") (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /bin

    9. mark the copied files in the folder /bin, right-click Info and give them 0755-rights

    10. use Cyberduck to copy the file "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (from ComCenter_Disabled/Disabled) to the iPhone-folder /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/

    11. restart your iPhone

    12. cut out both SIMs, the original one supplied with the phone and your own, so they will fit perfectly into the TurboSim - do it carefully!

    13. put the original SIM supplied with the iPhone (not your own!) into the TurboSim and carefully insert it into your iPhone

    14. start the Terminal and type: "ssh -l root xxx.xxx.xx.xx" - (with xxx.xxx.xx.xx of course being your iPhonesī IP) - and hit Enter; if Terminal asks if you really want to connect, just type "yes" and hit Enter

    15. Terminal should ask for the root-password, which is "alpine" - so type "alpine" and hit Enter

    16. type "turbo-info" and hit Enter - some numbers should appear followed by an "OK"

    17. type "turbo-app /private/var/root/applesaft.trb" - so the file you copied to that location via SFTP will now be executed; after that an "OK" should appear

    18. rename the file "com.apple.CommCenter Kopie.plist" (on your harddrive) to "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (so without " Kopie", which is just the german word for copy) so that the name is identical with the one in the "disabled"-subfolder

    19. use Cyberduck to copy the file "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (the one you just renamed) to the iPhone-folder /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ - so the original file will be there again (and not the "disabled" one)

    20. restart your iPhone

    21. on your iPhone go to Settings -> Phone -> SIM Applications -> Apple Saft -> Set

    22. remove TurboSim and original SIM from the iPhone (carefully!)

    23. replace the original SIM with your own and put TurboSIM and your own SIM back into the iPhone (carefully!)

    24. restart your iPhone

STEP 3 - DONE! Your iPhone should now be fully operational, BUT calls and SMS still wonīt be possible as no carrier will be found, so you will have to proceed to STEP 4 and upgrade the iPhone to 1.1.2 again...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 4 - UPGRADE TO FIRMWARE 1.1.2 again and JAILBREAK and ACTIVATE again

    1. start iTunes, it should prompt if you wish to update to Firmware 1.1.2. just do so; this may take a while

    2. shut down iTunes

    3. download and unpack this:

    http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

    4. open "jailbreak.jar" and wait til the process is finished, iPhone will reboot twice during this

STEP 4 - DONE! Your iPhone should now be fully functional with FW 1.1.2 on it

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Some hints:
    --------------

    - IF after using the "turbo-info" command in Terminal NO numbers and NO "OK" appear but THIS ouput :"/dev/tty.baseband: Resource",

-> this will mean that you FORGOT to replace the original CommCenter-file with the "disabled" one (see STEP 3/10) OR copied a WRONG
CommCenter-file to that folder. Also take care about STEP 3/18 which states that the "original" file must be named to match the "disabled" one.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    - IF your phone wonīt receive any calls but instead just displays a rotating cycle-icon and/or
    - IF you arenīt able to just dial a number (but only to choose a contact from the contactlist and dial THAT way) and/or
    - IF the phone just returns to the mainscreen when you go to Phone -> Keypad and then enter the first digit......

-> here is the solution: you are in a not supported country.
Supported countries (by November/07) are: US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Japan and China
You should run Tweaks 1.1.2/iWorld from the AppTapp Installer, that should solve the problem.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    - IF you wish you can remove all the files you uploaded to /bin (see STEP 3/8) once the TurboSIM is programmed and working.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    - IF you need some help cutting your SIMs, this (french) PDF might help:

    http://**********.com/files/72821566...boSim.pdf.html

Use a cutter to do this.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I repeat, I havenīt tried this one, but feedback this post received tells that this 100% works.
OFC I canīt and wonīt guarantee - each single one who tries this is the only one responsible for his iPhone.

    """""""""""""""""

Found it on hack****.or* Is this possible ? If it is ...... then i hope Anysim is not far behind.

    Using a TurboSIM isn't a true "Unlock"

All TurboSIM requires is a JAILBROKEN phone - doesn't matter what firmware version, what bootloader.

TurboSIM is a wafer thin 'piggyback' SIM card that you install in the iPhone along with your non-ATT or O2 SIM.

The circuitry and firmware on the TurboSIM tricks the iPhone into thinking that an ATT or O2 SIM is installed, regardless of what carrier you're using

it requires an ATT or O2 SIM (the one that came with the phone will do, doesn't have to be activated) to set it up initially, as well as the SIM for the carrier you chose to use.

TurboSIM phones withstand updates and firmware changes. As long as the firmware can be jailbroken and bypass activated you'll have no problems using it, in any phone

It's not possible to unlock 1.1.2 in any country at this point in time. It should also be noted that TurboSIM does not unlock the iPhone. It piggybacks on your existing SIM and "tricks" the iPhone into thinking you're using AT&T as your carrier.

Post I Find the original GUIDE
    Hey Guys

Web-translations suck - so I took a tutorial from a german site in which is described how to get a 1.1.2 OTB fully functional with a TurboSIM - and translated it. I tried it with my own phone - and it worked - and there are many confirmations that this one worked for other users of this forum.

As confirmed from this forum, this will work with either OTB 1.1.2 / BL 4.6 or an upgraded 1.1.2 iPhone.

Also there has been confirmation that hacking and programming the TurboSIM can be either done with 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 installed, but to keep it on the safe side just proceed as the steps are listed in the tutorial.

If anyone finds mistakes in this tutorial, please PM me, I will correct and update this tutorial if necessary.

    NOTE:

I clearly express, that I canīt and wonīt guarantee that this will work for you - each single one who tries this is the only one responsible for his iPhone.

    THANKS

HOW TO JAILBREAK/ACTIVATE A 1.1.2 OTB (Bootloader 4.6) and USE IT WITH TURBOSIM

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    STEP 1 - DOWNGRADE YOUR 1.1.2 OTB to 1.1.1

    1. download 1.1.1 firmware here:

    http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....a_Restore.ipsw

    2. Connect your iPhone to your MAC and do the following: press both, sleep and home button for 10 seconds, around the 8th second the screen will turn black, still hold the two buttons and the iPhone will turn back on. When it turns on, release the sleep button but still hold the home button until you see a screen with the cable. You are now in restore-mode. DO NOT unplug the iPhone

    3. start iTunes 7.5; iTunes will report that it found an iPhone in recovery mode; press the restore button WHILE holding the ALT-key; in the upcoming filechooser just choose the 1.1.1-firmware-file (iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw) you just downloaded; iTunes will now downgrade the iPhone to 1.1.1 (which may take a while) and then report the errorcode 1015, which is not important and can be dismissed.

    4. shut down iTunes

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 2 - JAILBREAK and ACTIVATION / INSTALL OKTOPREP / UPGRADE back to 1.1.2

iTunes 7.4.2 users, download this, mount it and move iNdependence.app to your desktop, then go to STEP 2/5

    http://independence.googlecode.com/f...nce_v1.2.5.dmg

iTunes 7.5 users who are lazy download this already patched version, then go to STEP 2/5

    http://users.tpg.com.au/duyvan82/iNdependence.app.zip

iTunes 7.5 users who want to go all the way start at STEP 2/1

    1. download iNdependence (V1.3Beta for iTunes 7.5) here:

    http://independence.googlecode.com/f...v1.3_beta2.dmg

    2. mount the image and copy iNdependence.app and iNdependence MobDev Tool.app to your desktop

    3. download and unpack MobileDevice_7_4_2_framework here:

    http://rapid_share.com/files/6841068...ework.zip.html

(maybe in the domainname there is a _ which needs to be removed....)

    4. start the iNdependence MobDev Tool.app, it will put up an Alert, hit OK, it will then ask you to locate the MobileDevice framework Folder, choose the MobileDevice_7_4_2_framework FOLDER, hit Open, then choose the iNdependence.app and hit OK; the app will move the framework to where it belongs

    5. start iNdependence and just wait until the iPhone will start normally / showing the activation screen (meaning iNdependence will have helped with bringing the iPhone out of the recovery mode)

    6. just do as shown in this YouTube-video:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvaZCBN5ub8"]YouTube - How to AppSnapp Installer.[/ame]

after that you should have a jailbroken 1.1.1 iPhone

    7. on your iPhone click Installer and check if you are prompted to update the installer / if an update is available, if yes, just do so (after it is done click the home button and wait for the iPhone to do a soft reset then slide to unlock.), if no, proceed to next step.

    8. on your iPhone click Installer / Tweaks 1.1.1 / Oktoprep and install that one. Wait for Installer to say it is ok blah blah blah, then press home button and wait for a soft reset. (do not restart phone)

    9. quit iNdependence and start iTunes, it should prompt if you wish to update to Firmware 1.1.2. just do so; this may take a while
(do an UPDATE, NOT a restore!)

    10. shut down iTunes

    11. download and unpack this:

    http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

    12. open "jailbreak.jar" and wait til the process is finished, iPhone will reboot twice during this. do NOT install SSH from jailbreak.jar!

STEP 2 - DONE! Your iPhone is now jailbroken and activated running 1.1.2

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 3 - PREPARING and INSTALLING THE TURBOSIM

    1. on your iPhone, go to Settings -> General -> Auto Lock -> Never

    2. connect your iPhone to your WLAN (write down the IP your iPhone will have in your WLAN!) IMPORTANT: Only proceed further on in a WLAN-environment that will insure that the phone will retrieve the SAME IP via DHCP AGAIN AFTER THE NEXT REBOOT! Otherwise you will get stuck at STEP 3/14, cause the IP might have changed, e.g. in huge WLANs. If you are unsure then do this: on your iphone, after it acquires its IP address through DHCP, change the mode from DHCP to Static before you go on with the tutorial.

    3. on your iPhone, start the Installer and install the following: BSD Subsystem / CommunitySources / openSSH

    4. download and unpack these files:

    http://rapid_share.com/files/7197445..._rev2.zip.html
    http://rapid_share.com/files/7197770...abled.zip.html

(maybe in the domainname there is a _ which needs to be removed....)

    5. download and open Cyberduck (if you donīt have it already) here:

    http://tc.versiontracker.com/product...1.dmgCyberduck

    6. with Cyberduck connect to your iPhone; Protocol: SFTP / Port: 22 / Server: your iPhonesī IP (see above) / Username: root / Password: alpine

    7. use Cyberduck to copy the file "applesaft.trb" (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /private/var/root

    8. use Cyberduck to copy all OTHER files (except "applesaft.trb") (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /bin

    9. mark the copied files in the folder /bin, right-click Info and give them 0755-rights (owner: RWX, group: RX, others: RX)

    10. shut down Cyberduck

    11. cut out both SIMs, the original one supplied with the phone and your own, so they will fit perfectly into the TurboSim - do it carefully!

    12. put the original SIM supplied with the iPhone (not your own!) onto the TurboSim and carefully insert it into your iPhone

    13. start the Terminal and type: "ssh -l root xxx.xxx.xx.xx" - (with xxx.xxx.xx.xx being your iPhonesī IP and "l" being a little L, not a capital i !!!) - and hit Enter; if Terminal asks if you really want to connect, just type "yes" and hit Enter

    14. Terminal should ask for the root-password, which is "alpine" - so type "alpine" and hit Enter

    15. type "launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist"
(after doing this make sure you wonīt (even accidentally) restart your phone, at least til you re-loaded the CommCenter in STEP 3/18!)

    16. type "turbo-info" and hit Enter - some numbers should appear followed by an "OK. no errors"

    17. type "turbo-app /private/var/root/applesaft.trb" - so the file you copied to that location via SFTP will now be executed; after that an "OK" should appear

    18. type "launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist"

    19. restart your iPhone

    20. on your iPhone go to Settings -> Phone -> SIM Applications -> Apple Saft -> Set -> Accept

    21. remove TurboSim and original SIM from the iPhone (carefully!)

    22. replace the original SIM with your own and put TurboSIM and your own SIM back into the iPhone (carefully!)

    23. restart your iPhone

STEP 3 - DONE! Your iPhone should now be fully operational.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tried this tutorial with my own iPhone, and it fully worked.

Furthermore, confirmations that this one works come almost every day, just read through this thread, many questions answered already.

OFC I canīt and wonīt guarantee - each single one who tries this is the only one responsible for his iPhone.

(maybe in the domainname there is a _ which needs to be removed....)

    5. download and open WinSCP (if you donīt have it already) here:

    http://winscp.net/download/winscp405setup.exe

    6. with WinSCP connect to your iPhone; Protocol: SFTP / Port:22 / Server: your iPhonesī IP (see above) / Username: root / Password: alpine

    7. use WinSCP to copy the file "applesaft.trb" (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /private/var/root

    8. use WinSCP to copy all OTHER files (except "applesaft.trb") (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /bin

    9. mark the copied files in the folder /bin, right-click them, select "Properties" (or similar) and give them 0755-rights (owner: RWX / group: RX / others: RX)

    10. close WinSCP, then download PuTTy here:

    http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/.../x86/putty.exe

    11. cut out both SIMs, the original one supplied with the phone and your own, so they will fit perfectly into the TurboSim - do it carefully!

    12. put the original SIM supplied with the iPhone (not your own!) onto the TurboSim and carefully insert it into your iPhone

    13. start PuTTy and connect using your iPhone IP address as the host name.

    14. PuTTy should ask for a username, so type "root", then it asks for the root-password, which is "alpine" - so type "alpine" and hit Enter

    15. type "launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist"

Your iPhone should now be fully operational,

I tried the MAC-version of this tutorial, and it fully worked.

Furthermore, confirmations that this one works come almost every day, just read through this thread, many questions answered already.

OFC I canīt and wonīt guarantee - each single one who tries this is the only one responsible for his iPhone.

    enjoy
    cheers
