I can't wait to get my iphone OOB 1.1.2 with bootloader 4.6 unlocked... TurboSIM and StealthSIM are very expensive...

There has to be a way to unlock the phone... does anybody knows about the progress of this... is anyone at least close to accomplish this??? any ETAs??

I asked my cousin to get me my iPhone (I don't live in the US, but he was coming to visit), and I had purposely told him to leave it to the last minute of leaving the country to buy mine.

If only I had told him to get it a month earlier than when he did...

I have an at&t OTB 1.1.2 iPhone.
I downgraded it to 1.1.1, then jailbroke.
How can I activate at&t service without upgrading it to 1.1.2?
I have International keyboards, but when I upgrade it to 1.1.2, I cannot add the International keyboards.
Now my iPhone is just a iTouch...

You have to upgrade to 1.1.2 i think since the baseband can't be downgraded, Then connect to iTunes and activate with AT&T.

@Doerr (or anyone else), do you happen to know of some links with more information about the baseband? I've been trying to find some information on why exactly the baseband can't be downgraded, etc, but the search is failing me.

my more specific question is, similar to the unlocked 1.0.2 to unlocked 1.1.1 process, why can't one downgrade a 1.1.2 to 1.0.2, re-virginize, then upgrade to 1.1.1 and unlock (in essence, saying screw 1.1.2 for now)?

i'm sure the question has been asked a million times and i'm sorry for repeating it, but, i've tried to find some discussion on it but haven't had luck with the search, yet.

Ok, yes, I'm a noob...and I'm donning my flame retardant outfit...but I'm confused.
I was just about to go buy my girlfriend a new iPhone yesterday, and right before I walked out the door, I read all these posts...THANK YOU!!!! Now she won't get an iPhone for Christmas, but you all saved me a BIG HEADACHE!!!

the hackint0sh link is for jailbreaking not unlocking.

The 1st link is just the thoughts on the 4.6 bootloader. nothing new. best place is to check http://www.11246unlock.com for updates and to support the effort!

As many of you, I recently bought a US iphone with the 1.1.2 otb. I've been checking the web to find a solution to unlock this gadget, and I found this web: http://iphone-unlock.us/, who literally say "NOW INCLUDES iPHONE VERSION 1.1.2 NEW OUT OF BOX"

Does anyone know them? Is it a fake?

The goal here is as a community to cometogether to support a common cause. We all want 1 thing. An Unlocked iphone. So lets support the cause however possible!

ie.. downgrad to 1.1.1, activate/jailbreak.. then run anysim?

You can downgrade to use the iPod and Wi-Fi.

pf edit: if you have upgraded to 1.1.2, of course, you can still unlock by following this guide.

add something like this:

OTB 1.1.2 downgraded--->upgraded again don't count

many ppl is being confussed with all terminology (jailbreak,unlock,etc) and same
with all OTB, upgrades,downgrades...

If it's OTB 1.1.2 theres no software solution yet...it it's not OTB 1.1.2 and you upgraded to 1.1.2 you can jailbreak and then unlock
