I have a brand new iPhone, which I purchased Wednesday and activate the same day. Yesterday, I came across this site. And I am now trying to unlock my phone, but I am stuck at the App Snap. All I get is a blue dot. I let the phone sit for several minutes, until it locks up, and I have powered off the phone and back again, and tried the site again same deal. I guess since I have a newer firmware,it means sol?

First you are with AT&T? if yes. then your looking to jailbreak only.
Second, your iPhone has firmware 1.1.2? if yes then AppSnapp will not work for you with out downgrading your firmware. If your using a pc then here.http://www.modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16653

Thanks for your quick response broomhead. Listen, I'm on a Mac, but I can get access to a PC as well. I just want you to clarify 2 things, which I would be extremely grateful for. First, I clicked on the link you provided, and it took me iDemocracy, is the link you intended for me. Two, does this mean that with iDemocracy and a Windows pc, I will avoid having to downgrade to 1.1.1? Please if you can clarify this, I would be extremely greatul.

Yes, The link above is for PC only. You can use a pc and iDemocracy to jailbreak and install the installer app. Then use your mac and AFP from there.

This is a very easy One Click Jailbreak NO DOWNGRADING REQUIRED!!!!
Here is a simple tutorial!
First Download the

Ziphone 1.0.zip form appleiphoneschool.com

and save it to your Hard Drive
Then extract the files to Drive C (Recommended)
Open the extracted folder
Then run ziphoneGUI
Depending on what your doing
Check the proper fields the apply
If you just wanna jailbreak then select Jailbreak
then Hit START
It should ask you to Power off your Phone!
So do so by holding the power button and using the slider.
After the phone shuts off Hold the Home Button til the Connect to iTunes LOGO Pops UP!(let go of home button)
Ziphone SHOULD say this:
Searching for iPhone...
Working.....
Please Wait 45". (if your just jailbreaking)
Depending on what your doing be it jailbreak, activate or unlock it will tell you to wait longer.
If successful you phone should REBOOT after the displayed with Installer App!!!!! YOUR 1.1.3 phone is now jailbroken!

Nice of you to be so helpful, but the post is over 2 months old, lol.... doubt the issue is still there. Hell, doubt they will even look at this
