Whats the best method for unlocking v1.0.2?

Hi All

I just received a couple of un-opened Iphone's (1 week 36 & the other week 38) with 03.14.08_G in them.

So these are v1.0.2 if my searching is correct.

I need to activate/jailbreak and unlock them both.

There appears to be many methods around at the moment to do this - which is the best right now?

Also can I update them to 1.1.2 without much hassle.

I am giving them to freinds and I would prefer them to have latest firmware on them to avoid any issue of them updating via Itunes automatically and messing the unlock up.

If they are still virigin phones, upgrade to 1.1.2 then start at phase 3 in this guide, but read everything over until you understand then start. Make sure your iTunes is latest version 7.5. This guide will jailbreak and unlock at 1.1.2. Do phase 1 to be sure you can first.

Tks - Yes they are brand new virgin phones.

So to upgrade to 1.1.2 as the first step - will just plugging the unactivated/unlocked phone into Itunes do this for me?

Try connecting it to itunes to see if you can upgrade, I don't remember if you need to activate first.

Nope it needs activation first -it wont let me update to 1.1.2 without it.
