Activate 1.1.2 brand new

Sorry if there is a post out there with the answer but i cannot find it.

I just got a brand new iPhone with version 1.1.2. I know how to downgrade the firmware by selecting restore but i can't select the restore without activating the phone first. How do i do that?

So stupid...figured it out..
