Unlocked and Jailbreaked 1.1.2 without EDGE
Hi Guys,
My baby is running Firmware 1.1.2, Bootloader BOOT03.09_M3S2 & unlocked. Everything seems to work fine! My one and only Problem is:
EDGE does not show up under Settings/General/Network
Does anybody have some ideas? Tried the EDGE fix with ID2 under 1.1.2 but doesn't seem to help.
Thank you all and especially Drakenza for ID2!!!Last edited by xandili; 11-19-2007 at 10:15 AM.

Xandili, as we discussed. After multiple attempts to fix this, it looks like the problem is with the lockdownd file in /usr/libexec. When you replace it with the modified one, do not delete it first, just overwrite it.
I recommend a restore and jailbreak again. Make sure you overwrite the existing lookdownd file.

Just install the Services App! Use it to turn edge off, then on, and it'll ask you to restore EDGE settings or manually input them. Bizarrely my EDGE option actually came back after I installed iToggle... Don't know if it's related or not.

Does anybody have a good solution for this?
I had a 1.02 unlocked. Virginize and upgrade to 1.1.1 and now it's jailbreak (but not unlock). I lost edge all teh suddenly one day. It was working all fine. I tried all this modifying the 2 files and adding proxy.pac and it won't work. I'm with AT&T (no data plan but it should be pay as you go).
This is driving me nuts!

I got the same problem but sorted it out

You need to do the following (The easiest method):
*You must have OpenSSH and BSD subsystems installed on your Iphone (you can install them using the installer)
1- Create a wireless peer-to-peer network on your laptop.
2- Connect to it from your Iphone and when you are connected, press the blue arrow on the network's name you will see your Iphone's IP address, write it down.
3- On your laptop, open the Winscp (Google it) then enter the IP address of your Iphone, the user name (root), the Password: (alpine) or sometimes try the password (dottie).
4- When you are logged in, right click on O2_UK.plist and click on Edit
5- Add the Key:
<key>AllowEDGEEditing</key>
<true/>
6- Save and restart your Iphone, then walaaaa!!!, it will appear again.
P.S. I have done this on my 1.1.2 Iphone and worked
P.P.S. If you couldn't create the wireless network, just go to somewhere where there is an existing one, connect you laptop & Iphone to the same network then proceed from step 3 above.
