lets say a phone is updated to v.1.1.2,, without doing OktoPrepped. how the heck do you downgrade if itunes doesnt allow you to do it.

Hold down Shift in Windows or Option in OS X and hit restore. Then you can choose which file you want to restore from.

Go to the guide on the left menu. You will find many different ways and links to get the 1.1.1 firmware. Even youtube has a video on how to do it. It's for v1.1.1 to v1.0.2 but the procedure is the same.

well im not retarted, he already upgraded to 1.1.2..... you cannot hold shift and select v.1.1.1, it starts then says failed, boots you out.

that's because you need to be in DFU mode first. Read the guides to learn how.
