Hi, first of all I'm a complete "n00b" to all this.
I got a 1.0.2 iPhone from America (I am in UK).
My mate unlocked my phone for me, then when I was connected to wifi some update got installed and took me to the activation screen again. After that I got a message saying that the iPhone needed repaired. I read some of the forum that suggested I try restoring to 1.1.1 so I tried that through iTunes, by downloading the 1.1.1 software opening iTunes and holding shift before clicking the restore button to select the 1.1.1 file.
It started going through the process then eventually errorer with "Unknown Error [1101]"
Now, my question is have I completely fkd it? Or is it possible to retrieve the situation by someone who knows what they are doing.
Thanks for your advice redcard. I have used iBrickr and I managed to reboot the phone. Now though I have the iPhone back to the "Repair Needed" error and also my laptop no longer seems to recognise the iPhone.
hi jonny,
please keep us updated with the progress, as i have a very similaar issue.
Apperently you need to downgrade and virginize baqck to 1.0.2 and start all over again.
let me know how you get on...
if it is permanantly broken, can you send it back to a store in the us?
As of now I've not been able to do anything with my phone and now seriously considering throwing it from the top floor of my office. The money I paid for it will pale into insignificance to the money I will have to pay in therapy for the stress it has caused me.
Really wish I hadn't got it now and just gone "legit" with one from O2.
