Default Buying used LOCKED iPhone today..help!
Hello there, I joined the forum today, and have been searching around for about 5 hours now lol..

Situation: I am buying a used iPhone today. the user had AT&T, and never had it unlocked. Since it has been used on the AT&T network, will I have any problems?

Will someone help a newbie out and tell me how to go about unlocking it/jailbreaking it, as I am not too familiar with iPhone stuff..sorry! and thanks!

i wouldnt suggest using ziphone. Either use iliberty+ or winpwn (or pwnage if you have a mac). Here are the tutorials for iliberty+, winpwn and pwnage.

    iliberty+ (windows) - http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=849
    iliberty+ (mac) - http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=847
    winpwn (windows) - http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=957
    pwnage (mac) - http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=893

Just use either of the two. I would suggest winpwn/pwnage.

lets not get into this debate again.

ziphone downgrades your bootloader to 3.9 whilst iliberty uses a fakeblank which is reversible and the new methods can neuter your bootloader so it doesnt get up/downgraded.

ziphone is an inferior programme to the others listed. however, if it works for you, then use it. however, as of june when the new firmware comes out, ziphone and iliberty will be useless and everyone will have to move onto winpwn/ipwn.

i cosign the reply right above me aswell btw.

ipwn will activate/jailbreak/unlock your iphone all at once.

then you can use your phone with any sim card and install all of the apps through cydia/installer.
