I have a jailbroken 1.1.2 firmware UK iPhone in my hands right now. Sadly, because of different bootloaders (the things that are tricked into unlocking your phone) there will be no unlock until the yanks (talented bastards) get their hands on our bootloader.

However, there are contradicting reports, some say that you can use any o2 tariff others say that you can't. I have an o2 contract and it's not working. However, I miseed a few steps so I think I'm not the best case to follow.

Make sure that when you jailbreak your 1.1.2, you upload the PATCHED lockdownd file. That's the only way you'll be able to get in (I believe).

IphoneunlockUK will only send you the same files that are on here for free. You can bet as soon as the software becomes available on the net, they will suddenly have a solution. Save yourself 40 quid and use the free one. Also when you get a problem with the process, all they do is say send it to us, which will end up costing you 40 quid more.
Stay away from them.

exactly what soulboy stated, don't be fooled into iphoneunlockuk website, they aint working on nothing except waiting on the scene to release the hack!

They are making a pretty sum of money from it, fair enough you cant knock their hustle but the scene with its mods and hacks are made free for the community and enough people will help each other out when it comes available so dont get suckered in

I'll do a very very simple one in a sec I suppose. Remember that unlocking doesn't exist for 1.1.2 OTB yet.

I just got it working! Holy crap I'm relieved.

What you need to do is jailbreak using AppTapp installer. I got it from iDemocracy.

Then activate using iDemocracy Activator, if you have an o2 sim card, it works wonderfully.

i have a uk 1.1.2 fresh out the box iphone and still await the full hack to release it for my tmobile sim, hoping sometime soon it will come...

lets keep this thread alive for the uk users so we all have information and reports on the future hacks so we all dont get confused

Thanks for the great guide! I can't get my pay as you go O2 sim card to work in 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 though, any ideas why?
