OK I want to start this thead for the bennefit of all of us newbies out there who want to upgrade from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1
This is my situation:
I have a jailbroken and unlocked 1.0.2 iphone that I use outside the US (of course non AT&T) and I want to upgrade to 1.1.1; I read that the new AppSnapp procedure is very easy to follow but I dont have it clear if I need to first "virginaze" my iphone (how do I do it y the way?) in order to then update to 1.1.1 and then use AppSnapp to jailbreak it and ater that intsll and use anySim to be able to use my iphone on another carrier like I do now.
Please tell us newbies all of you seasoned hackers and modders if this is accurate or what do we need to do exactly. My great thanks.

i'm a bit confuse since stage 1 refers directly to stage 3 but in the stage 3 (step 1) mentions that we need to activate and jailbreak the virginize 1.0.2 iphone before we proceed with the whole process in stage 3. the statement is as follows:

"Before continuing with the following steps, you should ensure that your iPhone is activated and jailbroken. You can follow the steps in " Part 2 of the "OS X iPhone Unlock Guide" if you do not know how. Be sure to only follow the steps in "Part 2". Afterwards you should return here and continue with the rest of the steps in this guide."

so, can anybody confirm me that i need to do the stage 2 or not?
