    Default *#307# doesn't work! Help!

Hi, I virginized and restored my iPhone to 1.1.1 but I can't unlock it as the *#307# (one website says *#301#) doesn't work - I get the message "Error performing request, SIM PIN required".

    Help please!

    Thanks

    Andy.

Never heard of that before. Have you tried removing the sim? or trying a different one.It shouldnt affect that process

Oh hell! Sounds like you have a SIM lock on that sim. Call your provider and see if htey can give you the unlock code. I did that once and t-Mo gave me a code that allowed me to unlock the SIM. But they called it something else.

No the SIM's not locked, I just tried another one that definitely works in any phone.

Itunes wants me to download the new version (7.5) to unlock the phone... guess I don't want to do that!

Ah! I need to set the SIM so it doesn't need a pin entry when the phone powers up!

That should be included in the tips!

Continuing the messing about now, I'll post results!

I would have suggested removing the pin, but I assumed that was a no-brainer and you would have tried that already
