After Unlocking My iPhone memory is 300mb only !!

Hello

i Unlocked my iphone 8gb (1.1.1)

its working fine but the problem is the memmory

its 300mb only !


what can i do to fix this ?




i used anysim to unlock it

thats normal - it clears up after you upgrade to 1.1.1, i would assume the 300 mgs are just temp files that were created when re-virginizing your phone

you have to finish renaming the folders in the directions to get your other partition back so you have 7gb

Here are the steps for my fellow friends :

19. If you're not already there, navigate to /var/root and rename Media to Media_sym

20. Rename Mediaold to Media. Keep the FTP and SSH windows open.

21. Open iTunes and allow it to activate. If it doesn't recognize your iPod, reboot it and/or restart iTunes.

My phone did the same thing. I tried using ijailbreak. And it dint follow through. How do i rename those files. Are they on my mac or my iphone. Im panicing here.

Open WinSCP, but do not have /var/root only private/var/root.

The var folder in / directory is just a shortcut from private.

also inside private/var/root, there is one media short cut folder that pointing back to directory.

Yeah holy crap I'm stuck here too! winSCP is LAME. I hate it so much. It never works. I've gotten it to work like once when jailbreaking but I've tried over and over and over again and nothing. I've tried shhifying and all this crap but nothing.

I understand what i have to do to edit the 300mb problem but is there any other way to do it besides in winscp?? thanks

Me too, had same problem 300MB, only worse - after renaming Media files my iphone recognizes 8GB memory, but I cannot see the photos/songs - they are invisible 5GB of data! PLEASE is there any way to erase all memory on the iphone (including the invisble 5GB)?! Cheers
