Default I think my phone is stuck

So I was trying to add a theme my seld through OpenSSH. I thought it worked but when I change my theme the phone froze. I have tried holding the power on/off for 15sec. Nothing. My phone was purchased unlocked here in Toronto. 1.1.4 on a PC computer

So I think I need to do this. Restore the phone via itunes. When I do that itunes ask if I want to back up phone. Not sure what to do here?
Then load iLiberty. Any version on iLiberty? Do I have my fido sim card in the phone??

Will my 3rd pary apps work.
If so then do I just reload my music/contants/summerboard etc like I did when I got the phone?
Sorry for all the question but I do not want to mess this up like I already did today

if you still have ssh access try chmodding the theme files you uploaded to 755
    like this:

    chmod 755 /var/Mobile/Library/Summerboard/Themes/nameoffilestochmod

or whatever the path is on you phone.
