ATT GoPhone for iPhone 4

Hey guys, this is probably a really basic question, but since I've been a tmobile iPhone user I don't know much about ATT. So the deal is, I'm thinking of getting an iPhone 4 off of someone, but it's on iOS 5.1 and locked to ATT only. Does that mean I can still use a GoPhone simcard with the phone after cutting it and all that stuff even though it's locked, or will I need an unlocked iPhone 4 to do that? Thanks again and sorry for asking a basic question!

You don't need to unlock it if you're planning to use GoPhone, which as you know is AT&T. If it's AT&T, it does't need to be unlocked. This also applies to Straight Talk and H2O.
