Default How to get AT&T to let me to update to iphone 4S without paying full commitment price?

I want to upgrade to the iphone 4S, but with my AT&T account, I don't have an upgrade until Jan 3, 2012. Is there a way to get AT&T to make my upgrade eligibility earlier? I've heard of people going into AT&T stores and complaining and thus having the worker edit their upgrade eligibility to an earlier date so they don't need to pay the full commitment price. How can I get this done for my account? Because theres no way I'm paying like $800 for this slight iphone upgrade! So any ideas guys? I mine as well buy a no commitment iphone if I'm paying that much so I can upgrade next year then.

Go to the store and see what deal they'll make you. A buddy of mine went and asked, they quoted him the same retail price for the phone but gave him 6 months free service, so he didn't need to pay his phone bill for 6 months.

Essentially it's the same thing as discounting him on the phone and paying his bill, but they did it that way bc they couldn't discount the phone but they could discount his service price (in this case was 100% discounted for 6 months lol).

So try your luck and go talk to a rep.
