Default I have no signal bars when 3G is on...
so i ran into an odd issue last night. i lost all my signal bars. i reset network settings twice.. didn't help. rebooted a few times.. nothing. i found out that if i shut 3G off, i have signal bars and can make and receive text/calls. when i turn 3G on, i lose all my bars. my wife's 3GS works just fine.

i am on a 3GS, 4.3.1, jailbroken, and have been jailbroken since whenever 4.3.1 was jailbroken. i'm not unlocked.

    anyone know what's causing this?

last bump... could something have gone loose perhaps in the phone? i won't hesitate opening it up, but i need to know if there is some sort of 3G cable or something that could possibly be causing this before i open my phone up and start fiddling around

I don't think it's a hardware issue that'd require you to open the phone. I would suggest a restore if anything. It sounds like a bug.

ok i speculate with 99% certainty that it's a hardware issue. this morning I dropped my phone down a flight of steps..pretty hard 3G started working. so its definitely something physical that was loose and may have reconnected with the tumble. but now it's acting up again and giving me the issue. any insight as to where the 3G antennae is? I'll open it up and take a look
