    Default ipad imei with iphone

ive been using an ipad data plan on my iphone using the nokia imei generator. a friend of mine is doing this as well and today his data shut off on him and when logging into att it wouldnt let him start it up again. did some research and found that att is cracking down on this and only allowing authentic ipad imei numbers to do this or otherwise your plan wont renew.

my plan expires tomorrow so i tracked down some authentic imei numbers and tried to change them in my account but it wouldnt let me. just wondering if i have any options here.

if i buy a new sim card will it let me activate it with one of the real imei numbers i have or could i buy an new 3g ipad and jack the number then return it?
