Default ATT BB SIM in iP4: Could not activate cellular data network

I have tried searching and I can't seem to find anything that is helping me.

I have a legitimate ATT SIM that I took out of my work blackberry, cut it down and put it in my new iPhone4. It works fine for calls and text but I keep getting the error "could not activate cellular data network".

Based on what I have found it sounds like I need to edit some APN setting or something but I can't for the life of me figure out how.

I am running 4.2.1 officially activated on ATT. I have not JB or Unlocked it at all.

What do I need to do to trick it to use my existing data plan? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can not edit your apn on 4.0+ you have to change your plan from bb to iPhone data. Call in an they should be able to offer you the unlimited if you demand it

Would JB or anything help me do this?

I unfortunately can't call in and change my plan because it is from work and they won't let me officially switch over until sometime next year. I am just so ******* sick of this stupid crapberry that I was really hoping it would work.

I was able to change the APN on 4.0 and 4.1 on iPhone 4. use that unlock.nz tool (or whatever the site is), I don't know what you would put in there though.

I also don't know if it will work on 4.2.1. But when I used it on 4.1 I did not need to jailbreak it.

You can use the .nz tool for editing API settings on 4.2.1. Just did it for my Sis-In-Laws iPhone 3G who needed a no fuss set up for her.
